Was the blue spider lily ever found? ›

In some cases, depending on the climate, the Blue Spider Lily doesn't even bloom at all. This explains why Muzan Kibutsuji never found it despite searching all over Japan for centuries: he was hindered by his inability to go out during the day.

It is shown that Kie Kamado, Tanjiro's Mom, knew when the blue spider lily bloomed, and she even showed Tanjiro when he was younger. If muzan hadn't killed her, he could have become immune to sunlight.

Muzan then discovered that while the medicine did strengthen his body, the side effects made sunlight fatal to him, and he developed a thirst for human flesh.

Nezuko having eaten the Blue Spider Lily could explain her immunity to sunlight, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has already justified it. According to the second official databook, the Blue Spider Lily bloomed near the Kamado family's home, with Tanjiro being shown its location by his mother.

In essence, he wants to absorb Nezuko and gain her power which will finally set him free from the burden of living in fear of the sun. This sets up an exciting finale for the series, one where the Demon Slayer Corps now have no choice but to confront Muzan head on to prevent Nezuko from falling into his clutches.

Unfortunately for Muzan, the Blue Spider Lily was an evasive flower to find, as it only bloomed during daytime at two or three instances each year. In certain climates, the Blue Spider Lily will fail to bloom entirely, making it even more difficult for Muzan to secure the flower.

Sengoku Secret: Tanjirou's mother Kie knew where the blue spider lilies bloomed. She showed them to him when he was very little, so that was why he briefly recalled them when his life was flashing before his eyes in the battle against Rui.

Demons cannot have offspring (if they do have kids and descendants it was before they became a demon, the child is most likely not Muzan child. As we seen in season two how he manipulated the elderly couple, I see Muzan also manipulating the mother who probably lost her husband.

Who eventually kills Muzan? ›
