Is the Jagex launcher the same as RuneLite? ›
With a Jagex account, you'll need to access our games through the Launcher or our Mobile apps. The Jagex Launcher only supports our official RuneScape and Old School RuneScape Clients and RuneLite.
Can Jagex detect RuneLite? ›
If you already have RuneLite installed, the Jagex Launcher will look for it in the folder in which it was originally installed. If the files have been moved the Launcher won't be able to find them. Try reinstalling RuneLite using the RuneLite installer.
Is RuneLite allowed by Jagex? ›
The Jagex Launcher remembers your account, so there's no need to enter your password each time you play. You can add up to 20 different RuneScape or Old School characters and quickly switch between them. If you're an Old School player, you can also choose to play using the official client or RuneLite.

Trusted RuneLite developers check over the plugins before they are added to the Hub to see if they are fine under Jagex's 3rd Party Statement. The warning at the top of the Plugin Hub is because we don't guarantee that the plugins in the hub will actually work, or that they won't crash your game and kill your HCIM.

Update: Jagex has reversed its decision following protests from the RuneScape community. In a statement, the studio said it's "exploring options" with Runelite HD creators to have the mod running until its own version of the updated visuals is ready.
