The skincare world seemingly just keeps evolving, with respect being increasingly given to those who specialize in the non-prescription solutions to skincare problems and maintenance — aka estheticians.

The growing online community featuring these licensed professionals has been vastly expanding, with several transforming their followers' and clients' skin with their expert advice. One product several of these estheticians swear by is the CeraVe Healing Ointment — an item tons have dubbed a tried-and-true pick to remedy everything from irritation to dryness.

Not to be confused with Vaseline, this easily accessible and affordable find has the consistency of petroleum jelly. Several licensed estheticians also call it a "holy grail" product that works wonders for dry, cracked and eczema-prone skin, especially.

New York-based licensed esthetician Tiara Willis perfectly broke down why this particular product is absolutely worth the hype — and then some.

"Humectants (attract moisture) and occlusives (retain moisture)," she tweeted to her over 280,000 followers. "Occlusive: Cerave Healing Ointment."

In a series of tweets, New York licensed esthetician and acne specialist Lily Njoroge raved that the product has healing properties that pricier products don't, thanks to its richness in ceramides, cholesterol and hyaluronic acid.

Not that Vaseline is bad. It’s not at all. It’s great. The Cerave healing ointment is just enhanced with ceramides, cholesterol, and Hyaluronic acid which are naturally found in the skin, and are necessary for a healthy barrier. Vaseline is JUST petroleum jelly. Nothing else.

After dubbing the CeraVe Healing Ointment her “eczema holy grail,” she noted that this single product is a “lifesaver” and had transformative effects on both her and her clients’ skin “literally overnight.”

The only product I’ll ever recommend for eczema is the Cerave Healing Ointment. It’s a life saver and has transformed my clients with eczema and MY skin (I have eczema) literally overnight. https://t.co/9ASo9Bso7D

Willis further added to the conversation, praising the CeraVe Healing Ointment for being one of three products she chooses to use during a “lazy skincare routine” day. She also particularly credits it for soothing dry skin during the shift from fall to winter.

What’s your lazy skincare routine?

Mine is makeup remover, cleanser and Cerave Healing Ointment. I be tired.

The CeraVe Healing Ointment also boasts a high customer satisfaction rate, with tons of five-star reviewers raving about how the product has personally helped their skin repair in short spans of time.

"I [have] seborrheic dermatitis. Mostly around the eyebrows, nose and chin. This is the only product that has worked for me," one shopper wrote. "It looks greasy like you're about to slap petroleum jelly on your face but it has no smell."

Another reviewer shared that the product is "better than Aquaphor" when used as the last step in her skincare routine at night and right before applying sunscreen during the daytime. She added that it's had extremely positive results, thanks to its "insanely moisturizing" formula.

"Amazing occlusive. It seals in everything I layer underneath," she wrote. "I wear it during the day as a final layer before sunscreen in the winter and the greasy look wears off within an hour of application."

The same reviewer stressed that it is "insanely moisturizing and protects your skin the entire day." She also warned potential shoppers that "a pea-sized amount is all you need for your entire face."

The only con shoppers seemed to express about this cult-favorite product is its large size, especially considering the general consensus that a little goes a long way.

"I wish I bought the smaller version," one shopper wrote.

As with any skincare product, it is highly recommended that users conduct a patch test before applying this directly to the face. This way, any potential irritation can be avoided as skincare is not "one-size-fits-all."

If you're on the market for an affordable and attainable product to treat fungal skincare conditions or just need an extra layer of moisture to seal in all of your products, this esthetician-recommended find is a top recommendation by both shoppers and professionals.
