Not that it matters since it’s the only way we can communicate. Requires login every time and doesn’t remember login information. App doesn’t have the best ui, making important changes to the account information can require emails outside of the app.

I used to give getting out a lot of flack for what i thought was a bad experience, well homewav tops them all, buggy app, doesn't keep you signed in, time out sessions are annoying and when it asks for ID , somehow and maybe it's just me but i screwed up the upload of my identification and because of this it's a really really really long Time to let me use the app to contact a loved one.

And of course they don't know about because we can't contact each other.

Terrible first time experience, that facility should switch to JPay and getting out as those are easier and faster.

App is trash can’t send messages, calls don’t have quality and the sound is awful. Need to enhance and step it up stop being cheap guys.

I am trying to add funds on the app and have tried to add them on the phone and I’m having a error message. This has been going on for an hour. It’s so inconvenient because I can’t even talk to my loved one.

I signed up, downloaded the app, and put money on the acct. I talked to him twice and texted once. It will not let me sign in today????

this app is horribly glitchy, I can’t even update my account information in it. It just continues to buffer. This app is horrible and really needs an update.

This is an app full of glitches but is unfortunately the only one of its type used by our country jail. (I WILL say, however, that the support team is very good about getting back to you.) The same thing happens over and over. I can’t text the person nor receive their texts. That has happened multiple times despite my following instructions to fix that bug. And many times, their call doesn’t not come through. The call comes in but one or the other of us can’t hear each other. I appreciate being able to have any contact, but truthfully, I wish they could just make a collect phone call to us over the regular phone system. This is giving me major anxiety in a situation in which I already have enough of that.

This app is total garbage and messes up all the time and I wish it had negative stars cause I would give it that rating. I really hope someone else comes up with a better app because their IT department must be terrible.

This app logs you out when you put money on your account, but allows you to stay logged in for days with no money on your account, once you get a call from inmate is when you realize you been logged out by this app, it’s so backwards. The video quality was great at first but now you can hardly see video and your loved one complains about video pausing while chatting but everything looks good on your end. This is terrible. Stop logging me out and sending error messages for no apparent reason. Fix the bugs or whatever current issues.

This app does not work! Every time I receive a message, I can not open it. I have to delete the app and reinstall it. That will SOMETIMES correct the problem so I can open the message.

Fix the app it doesn’t let me add any money on there and it’s annoying

The app does no allow me to answer calls or send messages one I hit on the inmates name the whole app just shuts completely down. Need my money back.

Every time I log in to this app I have to agree to the terms and conditions twice before I can do anything else. There is no way to report this to the developer.

This app seems to be collecting grants from a government contract but doesn’t put any of that money or any time into the app.

I receive no notification when I’m called even with notifications turned on.

I try to a message or video and it takes the money but sends no video.

I wait for the connection on a call and it has been ticking my time off, So by the time the call connects I have already spent a few dollars.

This app was a challenge to use to begin with, and now is virtually useless. I cannot connect with my daughter in any way.

I used this one time and didn’t touch it again for weeks and was logged out yet I checking bank account and saw they was taking money out without me putting it on the account and didn’t authorize any of it. SMH

There’s so many issues and when you email them about it they take weeks to respond. I find myself adding money way too often, they don’t even tell you the cost of phone calls but the price is ridiculous. I just put $25 on my boyfriends account yesterday and now I have $8 left and we’ve only been on the phone 3 times. They overcharge for phone calls like the cost of living isn’t ridiculous enough already.

Today makes the fifth time I have redone my account because it keeps disapproved and everything matches my drivers license and I have been able to add money to his account and add him but then it keeps saying my account wasn’t approved to check my email for further details and there isn’t anything in my email 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️What The Heck??!!!!

My photos (ID and Profile pic) keep getting disapproved, which is fine. However, when I try to upload new ones the camera button to push to change the photos is never there or it’s only on one of them and it’s never the one I want to change. Once things were approved when I go to click on New Message it just has a loading screen that never ever loads. They were more than happy to take my $20 though! Perhaps I could look past having to accept the Terms and Conditions 3 times every time I open the app if anything on the app worked. I just want to send my sister pictures 😤😫

App always lags and skips and just eventually hangs up but will definitely keep taking your money. I’ve wrote to customer service and they just tell me it’s my connection even though I have explain it happens when I’m sitting directly next to my router. It’s their system and they refuse to admit it or even offer any reimbursem*nt I’m so sick of this app

It was great until the update now I can’t even get on or open the app. And when my person calls it rings like half a ring and kicks off

Up until the last update I was able to get video calls from my loved ones and the app was great but now I can’t even log on to the app it kicks me out automatically. I have tried to uninstall and then reinstall the app but it keeps doing the same thing. So was this really an update or was this a fail date for the app??? I’m not impressed with the app anymore.

I have created an account, added my son, paid my money. Starting yesterday about noon I have been unable to do anything with this app. My son has tried to call me and text me. I get notification that he is available but when I try to pick up or send a text it just loads and loads and loafs but never finishes. It keeps saying I haven’t added a contact but I have done so several times. A few minutes ago it gave me a message that said it wasn’t “available at this time” not my son, the freaking app.

Since the update, the app will not stay open for me. Please do something with us.

Every time I try to open the app now it crashes and immediately closes out before the main screen even pops up. I tried restarting my phone and made sure I had the updated version and it is still doing this. These calls are very important and our only form of communication so please fix the issue!!!

I can’t even login it’s glitching and my money is on there

The worst app I have ever used. Poor quality over priced. Unprofessional customer service.

So I’ve not been approved for the account. I believe that because I used a shorter version of my name but since it didn’t match my drivers license I was not approved. But my username is made up nickname and that was ok to use so it’s contradicting in that aspect. I’ve yet to have an account approved and it’s getting ridiculous and time consuming. Try try again.

Has been good but after update it won’t let me even sign it shuts itself off.

My HomeWAV has worked all the way up until today. Now it won’t even open, even after I have reset EVERYTHING even cleared out my pages and everything.!!!!!

I downloaded the app and when I click of the app icon it pulls up then disappears completely I’ve tried deleting app and trying to reinstall it but keeps doing this for 4 days now. & it’s the only app that is used at the jail where I’m trying to reach someone

First of all, you don’t have any options at all. If you are using this app, then you already know there is no competition. When there’s no competition, there’s no reason to go out of your way to make a good app. Other than the fact that it’s horrible pricing as usual from jail liaison apps, but it makes you sign in over and over and re-agree to the terms and conditions more than four or five times a day.

The simple fact is it doesn’t matter how we review or comment on this app, you don’t have any other options. So does it really matter if this app is good or not?

For the last 2 weeks I haven’t been able to send video messages. It will compress the video, but it won’t send. I would love to send my love one family picture gathering’s, especially with holidays coming up. The customer service representatives are impatient and rude. The representatives lack the knowledge to assist most times with issues, which can be very frustrating. I have the iPhone 12, please fix this issue!

Unable to communicate

I can’t see or hear him when he calls I’ve done everything they have told me to do and it still doesn’t work the facility says it’s on their ends but it’s been three weeks and for some reason I’m having to accept terms and conditions everyday and log back in after I except them

This app is stupid you pay to talk to your relatives but when they try to call you can’t answer. And when you try to sign into the app it keeps saying the user name or password is incorrect. This ap needs a lot of improvement if it is going to charge you money to be able to use it.

App open and closes. Said appleid had a issue. Deleted app reinstalled and now it won’t open at all.

App won’t connect when I get called. I pay for this service, and to end up unable to actually connect and speak is ludicrous; ludicrous in all regards. Cannot believe that we have to pay to use something this terrible. I’ve never left a review but this was so bad I just HAD to.

I don’t understand what happened now I can’t video chat with my people. All it does is spin. Uninstall and reinstall and nothing but sure it’s taking my money I put on there cause I keep getting a dwindling money about but can’t even get it to connect to the video. Before the most recent update the app was great and I was able to talk to loved ones incarcerated but ever since the most recent update calls aren’t coming thru and when I go to the app and click on it it comes up and gives an error msg saying I need to accept the new T&Cs then once I do it logs me out and I have to log back in I’ll leave it alone and a few hours later I’ll go back to the app and it’ll do the same thing pop up an error saying I need to accept the T&Cs then logs me out so since that error is popping up sometime after I re logged back in when someone is trying to call me on the app it’s not coming thru bc of the errors. This really needs to be fixed it’s been happening for a few weeks now I could tell u how many calls I’ve missed bc of this issue in these last few weeks it’s very inconvenient and frustrating when this is the only life line u have to be able to talk to and video chat with ur incarcerated loved ones smh. Please fix this issue!!!!

I have been having a lot of trouble trying to connect with him. This thing is a lot more complicated than you make it out to be. It’s been nothing but trouble since we have been using it. We get cut off most of the time and it still clicks off the money. I feel like it’s been cheating us. I have not liked it from the start because of the issues it has. It’s nice to be able to see him what little I have been able to. It has too many glitches on it to be effective.

I loved this app. Until I started to notice that it would log me out every time I used it. And it is so annoying because you can’t even text. Like what is the point of the app! If all it’s going to do is be a problem, but that’s just my opinion. And why is it so hard to answer the call? But before these problems it was amazing. And the truth is I am gonna keep this app. Because it does help me see my dad. But that is the only reason! And y’all really need to update y’all app before this becomes a really bad app. Just like all of the reviews.

It’s nice to have an app to be able to see and talk to loved ones. However there are several bugs that should be fixed. One it will connect but have no sound and picture and therefore you lose money every time cash has to be reconnected to stop not be able to talk or see one another. The second problem is that is you are lucky enough to get connected and have visual and sound it may freeze which also causes the call to have to be disconnected and then reconnected which again cause one to lose money.

HomeWAV is a good tool that you can use to keep in contact with your loved ones. My only complaint would be the connection. Sometimes it just shows a black screen and you can’t see or here the other person and of course you’re being charged. But besides that it’s an awesome way to keep in contact…. You can use it to make video calls, send videos or pictures and in some places text messages.

After I finally figured out how to use this app on my I Phone it was Heaven Sent!!

It makes missing my Baby Girl a little easier. For fifteen minutes I can see her Beautiful Face and pretend she’s at work or out and about.

I still cry after we hang up,but it’s bittersweet. Thank you HomeWAV for giving me heaven 15 minutes at a time with my baby!!

The on-site visiting has been broken for weeks at the facility, I have multiple family members in there so it’s not easy to keep adding money to Homewav. So on-site visiting is my go to. I contacted Homewav because the on-site visiting stopped working out of no where. No one has gotten back to me or resolved the issue. Just because they’re locked up doesn’t mean they’re forgotten or should be treated like ****. Facility workers have a huge power trip and either refuse to contact Homewav themselves or Homewav doesn’t care enough to fix the issue.

I wish there was an option to keep me logged in

The app is buggy/confusing until your account is approved. Would be nice to have a message explaining that the account was pending approval, and also be told directly that the availability notification is different from an inmate messaging or calling you

It’d be helpful if the inmate could also send money from their internal account to someone else so that they could cover the messaging costs!

This system is way better than what they had access to before, it’s such important technology!!

My loved one and I have exchanged and paid for a total of 25 video messages between the both of us. We can both see the thumbnail for each video, but none of the videos will play at all for either of us. Our 15 year old son was murdered 3 months ago and I had sent him videos I had found of our son and him laughing and being funny. He can see the video thumbnail, but none of them will play for him, nor for me. Not cool! I’ve updated the app, deleted and reinstalled the app, and the video messages simply won’t load. It’s ridiculous! Please fix this!!!

They need to tell people flat blank normal people are seeing our info and it’s not private, the third party websites are people you know around here monitoring, one person recognized my name, and told my whole conversation to my mother, the person I was talking to his charges and what we were talking about, what does a civilian have the right to snoop like that and tell other people who are not law enforcement, I never got terms and conditions, after complaining an employee is putting my personal information along with my last name and literally made up a whole story of what was really said, who has the right to see that and just mess with your life and tell people lies to make them look better, all those people who handle the third party websites, and I’m 29 not like I’m underaged . After calling i than get terms and conditions to agree to not sue them, I did not accept those terms, and left it as be and will be consulting with a lawyer

You can’t hear the inmates after five minutes and now you can’t see them and you get multiple phone calls from them not hearing them and the phone just hanging up. Service technicians will not get sent out the only things they check is the picture of you and the inmate and lie and tell you that your internet is slow when in fact they showed me a picture from my first week using the HomeWAV and I’ve showed them screenshots of my top notch internet speeds and the screen being dark on the video call and whomever Denise is I don’t need you lying to me about my service and sending me screenshots shots from two weeks ago I love my uncle you should be asking yourselves why is the calls only for two and three seconds what a waste of money and time and effort. Don’t sell my information because they ask for your identification card and picture and all the crap when really there’s no reason they should the person we are contacting know themselves if they know the person a bunch of nosy people listening in trying to prove that nobody is doing nothing because that’s all you will get from my calls so prove what you know and go from there

Although it is a bit expensive… this thing is absolutely a blessing from God as it gives you the opportunity to, not only, see your loved one but take them on a [much needed =0] journey to CHURCH, [if you are wiser than I have been ;)] if you so choose~ considering there is NO church available at the facility!? << O.O :,( P.S. Thank God the “facility” has been good to my loved one, thus far… I only “wish” they offered church or something to help them maintain a healthier lifestyle, on the outside, so the next “step” isn’t prison…???Prayers & God Bless

It’s just so nice to be able to see him as you’re talking to him and see that they’re doing OK it seems to be working perfect it’s the first time I’ve ever used it and I think it’s doing a great job thank you all so much for doing this for us that we can talk to our loved ones while they’re in there and be able to see them again thank you very much Tina H

Someone setup an account on this app with my email address, which I have since found out is one letter off from their address. I was getting emails multiple times a day from the inmate intended for family so I reached out to the company and asked for my email to be removed from their system. They refused. Please keep in mind - I can use my email address to reset the password, but I don’t want to disrupt the communication between this young man and his family.

With the name of the inmate and who they were reaching out to - I was able to get personal information about the inmate, including where they are in jail and why, but I was also able to get information about the loved one - how old they are, where they live, how many children and step children they have.

This app deals with very sensitive, very personal information and they do not take that responsibility seriously.

I’m very disappointed in this app at this time!! My son has been incarcerated for months and he needs face to face contact with him mental health issues. All of sudden at the holidays this app has gone to crap!! I was in a middle of a call and it kept logging me out, telling me I wasn’t logged in and would continuously kick the call out, numerous times! I have deleted app and retried, I’ve even tried to make a new account and it gives me same message. Now what about the funds I’ve put on here for him and we can’t even use them? Complete disappointment and very frustrating!!!

If you’re going to make video calling available for inmates then make sure they can actually call their family and friends and children by allowing the people they’re calling to pick up. I get notifications that my boyfriend the father of my kid is trying to call but it doesn’t pop up with the answer or decline screen pop up so I can’t even answer it when he calls and he probably gets mad so he goes offline after that. Maybe make it so we can send a call request when they’re active on the app as well? This is ridiculous though, you guys need some major fixes not just “minor bug fixes”.

A few days into my boyfriend being in prison I signed up for this. I thought oh this would be a cool way to see him. I thought wrong my first problem with they app is that it won’t let me answer it will just show the notification that he is calling. Then when it would let me answer it would say the call was canceled (disappointing). I got it to work one time, we were a few minutes into the call and my camera stopped working. Until they can get this fixed I’m just gonna call him because this is supposed to be like a FaceTime type of app and it is not……… really disappointed.

Service is very poor and over priced!

Many many times the connections aren’t made or disconnected while eating up your ability to communicate and money! This is an absolutely terrible system and no alternatives are offered! Even though you have the app and an account, when you receive a call , you have to start all over with the log in process. By the time you restart the whole process and complete it , your call is terminated before you can even answer the call. Apparently the kickbacks to the powers to be must be pretty good or they wouldn’t allow this abuse to continue!

This is very annoying and doesn’t allow you to sign in to receive a call without accepting the agreement. The same agreement you just scrolled down for a full minute to accept 15 minutes ago. Why aren’t there competitors??! When there isn’t any competition some companies are lax in their customer service accommodations. I’ve complained as well as many others about this same issue. I’m constantly signed out and I have to accept the agreement even mid call while they’re calling. This is a GGREAT way to communicate with Loved ones BUT ABSOLUTELY WAY TOOOOO EXPENSIVE NOT TO ENJOY YOUR VISIT BECAUSE OF INTERRUPTIONS OR ANNOYING AGREEMENT POPUPS😢if I accepted it before, It should be suffice for every call.

Used to work great. Now it won’t let me answer when I can finally answer it takes over a minute to connect yet charges you while waiting and that’s if it actually connects with video and audio. 3/4 of the time it will connect but there is video or audio but you still get charged. I have lost out on so much money just trying to video chat my husband. It definitely is taking more money for not talking to him then actually talking to him. Feels like I’m being scammed just to get a glimpse of my husband. If it would work like it used to then I would say 5 stars but now I’m just being robbed.

Ok so being able to communicate with my inmate is great. So I appreciate that, but apparently it’s a different experience with iPhone users. Mine randomly logs out when running in background and does not notify me when my inmate logs on. So I have to constantly open and check if I’m still logged in. My cousin on the other hand, does not have an iPhone and gets notifications all day every time my inmate does. I’d like to see this fixed, but hopefully my inmate isn’t an inmate for long.

Okay, since my last review, things got way better for a about a month. Since then it’s gotten worse than before. Before I was able to check to see if I was logged in first thing in the morning, then I knew I was good when my buddy called me at 9-9:30 at night. Now my phone logs out within 10 minutes of my phone going to sleep. I see my buddy come online and I try to open it only to see the agreements pop up, followed by an error box, then I have to login all over again. By that time my buddy thinks I’m not getting online for his calls anymore. Please fix this. My buddy shouldn’t be incarcerated, but things are being drawn out because of covid… and he needs to know that his friends and family are still here for him. I’ve dropped a lot of money into this app since early June and I feel like we are not getting our money’s worth.

Honestly should start taking the money until the video connects . I’ve wasted so much money for the video/audio to not even connect . I feel robbed. My sons trying to see his father . I put a bit of money on so my son can see his dad and it wouldn’t even connect for us but took the money anyways like we seen or spoke to each other . And I’m upset cause I don’t have that much money to be spending for nothing. My son got his hopes up and was sad to not be able to see his dad like he thought he was going to. We poor over here an I’m doing what I can to take care of my son an instead of putting a bit of money towards something he wants like a cheap toy or something , I put it towards him being able to see his dad that he hasn’t seen in about 4 years and he’s about to be 5 .... Cashapp- $TCrazyCash if you happen to read and feel enough to donate a dollar or something would be appreciated.

It’s very nice to be able to see my son. The problem I have is it takes almost a full minute before he connects!!!! Which costs extra money. My picture comes up and he can hear me talking. But I can’t see or hear him for about a full minute. It’s fairly expensive per call. And if he gets frustrated because it takes so long for him to connect he hangs up and that costs me a dollar!!! This app should connect quicker!

Being able to talk face-to-face with my son has made a big impact on him and myself he’s able to see family members that he hasn’t sought in years and you can tell how you’re feeling when you’re able to talk face-to-face thank you so much Home wave we really appreciate the progress that you guys have made with talking to inmates thank you so much Coralynn Gregg

You don’t have a choice in who you use when wanting to connect with an inmate. I was disappointed not so much by the ridiculous fees/pricing model, but really in using the app. It logs me out constantly. Even if I get notifications that my contacts are online, it shows me as offline unless I can immediately sign into the app when I see notifications. I contacted support to see if they could change it to never logging a user out. Nope. I don’t think they have any FT devs. Feels like they built it in a hurry a while ago and since we don’t have a choice on services to use, they figure they can keep making money with no ongoing app development. I will be happy the day I can delete this app.

If I try to record a video message before all previous messages have loaded, it shuts the screen down to black and the only way to fix it is to dismiss the window and reopen it. Also, I’m constantly having to sign in when I do open the app. It’s a pain in the rear bc by the time I’m done he’s offline. Other than that and the occasional lag, it’s amazing to be able to see my boo’s face, even if it is only from the mid nose and up. UPDATE: still have all of the above issues, plus half the time he can’t get me on video chat. As for clearing the cache and restarting my phone to help with the login every dang time, doesn’t work. The app needs to keep me logged in at all times, just like FB or IG or Google or any other app out there.

If I had other means of talking to my inmate face to face, I would use it. Unfortunately, HomeWAV is the only service at his facility, so it’s the app I have to use. The sound and video CONSTANTLY lag. Our conversations suddenly end because the app crashes. I get charged for minutes that run by even when there’s no video or sound.

Besides the horrible user interface, it’s obnoxiously expensive. $6 for 20 minutes is absolutely ridiculous. That’s not even including the processing fee ($2 every time you add money to your account), or the refund fee ($7 if you want your money back).

This app stinks. And if you’re using it, your life probably already has enough struggles as it is, considering you’re trying to communicate with an inmate. I’m sorry for everyone who has to use this forsaken app.

So it was great for the first month or so, but suddenly it became frustratingly (and expensively) problematic.

I log in, and within seconds it tells me I have to be logged in to use the app. I click ok and log in again, and again it says the same thing!

When I did have enough time to receive a call from my incarcerated friend before the app told me I wasn’t logged in, we were able to start the call but then shortly into the call it booted me again! Truued again with same result.

Therefore, so far, this glitchy app has cost me the price of the calls I attempted, but moreso I have nearly $50 of paid credit on here that o can’t even use, and a friend who has no way to use this system to communicate with me!

If you want the burden of being the only way for families and friends to communicate visually with their incarcerated counterparts, you really need to be on top of fixing glitches and bugs as soon as they surface.

It looks like someone else (May 19ty review) had the very same problem, and that was more than 2 months ago!! I hope this issue hasn’t gone unresolved for that long!

Otherwise it is a fantastic concept, and has great potential as long as you can make it bug-free.

Let me just start out by saying HomeWAV is probably one of the worst FaceTime apps there is! If I could give negative stars I would give a thousand. It feeds off the fact that there is no other way to talk to your loved one beside this awful app. It’s a terrible money scheme that uses horrible quality. HomeWAV is the only app I am able to use in order to talk to my family member yes it’s helpful but I wanna see the one I love in person I wanna touch there hand this video company has completely destroyed conjugal visits. The old HomeWAV was a little better but then it updated and now constantly cuts out and says “error” and then logs me out, the audio is scratchy, there’s this new user agreement that keeps popping up no matter how many times I’ve pressed agree on it every time I enter the app it just pops up again. This app is awful and I hate that anyone is actually forced to download this terrible app!

These little things that are so easy to fix would help a ton just go back to before the update so I can atleast have a phone call without it getting blurry (and my internet connection is fine before you ask!)

I loved the app until the last update just a few days ago. I was able to see and hear the audio clearly, it lagged here and there but I wasn’t about to complain when I finally had the opportunity to see and talk to someone in jail over an app! After the update, I am no longer even able to stay logged in! It logs me out and has me unable to get any calls or notifications anymore and so I can’t even have a conversation anymore with the person I’m tryna talk to! EVERY time I gotta log back in. And every time it shows me the terms and conditions and I gotta confirm and accept it and then log back in again. That’s just insane. And a complete waste of an app that provides this service. I’m seriously fed up after a week almost of not even being able to talk to the person I’m tryna talk to! It really messes up with your emotions as this is never gonna be easy to deal with or easy to talk with a loved one that’s an inmate. So that whole oh-we-almost-have-it-working-and-up-again then it doesn’t work and you can’t see or talk to them, is a realllllllly messed up feeling that this app’s purpose should be to avoid from happening and help demolish entirely, and instead, connect you to the person instead of play with your emotions hot n cold like that! Please fix that! It was great otherwise BEFORE the update.

This was such a great app until it started messing up today!! Like it was really cool to be able to talk and message, video call while a loved one was incarcerated but you need to have a way to fix everything because this is the only communication we have so if the app messes up it can be taken the wrong way like they might think we’re ignoring them or something so this needs to be looked in to. Everything was going perfectly until today and idk why because there wasn’t an update today or anything it just started messing up.

I hesitantly downloaded this app in mid January, despite the very poor reviews then. Fortunately, I ran into almost no issues I’d read about, for 5 weeks. There was an update early on which made the picture distorted and was awful, however, it connected & I could see and still talk with my son and vice versa. For the last week we’ve attempted to connect multiple times a day and had only gotten it to work once. I’ve deleted & redownloaded multiple times, reset my phone, added the plugin, deleted & redownloaded that etc. I’m beyond infuriated that there’s money I’d added and we can’t even utilize it to communicate. With 4 weeks left, I’ll be attempting to get the rest of my money back and deleting all the app and info. I would definitely recommend NOT downloading. These issues should be fixed before an app is even released. They offer no explanation, no possible resolution. I had no idea about the plugin until I went to download the main app. I’ve already spent over $200 and it just keeps sucking up what’s left and doesn’t ever load. Stick with the phone calls offered through the facility your loved one is in.

This app has the most going on it’s great to talk to loved ones but at the same time it has entirely too many unnecessary updates!!! I’m an beyond tired of closing the app and opening it back up and closing it down and uninstalling it and downloading it to continue to load for a entire B.C period and for it to not open up at all. Inmate can request the call but I can’t sign on to see or talk to him and then the system will crash. Out of all this money I’m spending I feel like this should be a perfectly working app being that they are putting it in jails and for it to still not work properly. FIX THIS APP ASAP OR I PLAN TO UNINSTALL IT PERMANENTLY!!!

I have been using the app for about a month and a week and it’s been great in communicating back and fourth with my current boyfriend. UNTIL YESTERDAY. The inmate is able to send you a text message notifying you that they are online and would like to video chat. Once I go to open the app it sits on the home page and loads and loads and loads for about 15 minutes and never actually finishes loading. I have to close out the app and go back into the app only for it to sit and load and load and load some more. By that time it’s been 30 minutes and I never got to even video chat with my boyfriend. I am getting extremely frustrated with it. I have had to delete and re download the app SEVERAL times and even then.. It does the same thing. It needs to be fixed. It’s absolutely annoying and it’s frustrating to not be able to see or speak to your loved one all because the app won’t load. Myspace from 2006 loads faster than this app.

I’ve been using this app since 10/20 and the update in January made it work great. It was such a relief to be able to see each other. More importantly so my son can see his father daily. I’ve spent a lot of money with app and it’s extremely frustrating that the newest update 3 days ago just made it completely impossible to talk to each other.

It takes 20 minutes plus for it even able to refresh to then sign me out of the app. It erased all my information I had saved. When we finally got to use the app it cut the video because call failed out of no where.

Please fix this problem. Using this app is so important for our family.

I downloaded this app from my play store, immediately attempted to add funds so that my husband could call me. I was able to add my debit card information however I could not add my husband (contact). Customer support it’s a joke the rep pretty much called me a liar; she asked me what kind of phone do you have? My response and IPhone XR this lady said “Well I have an IPhone too and my IPhone is allowing me to add a contact, hold on I am finna get my supervisor” What the hell; at this point I immediately became frustrated and angry the supervisor had to add my husband to my account and guess what? The app is not working properly I refuse to call customer support again I am requesting a refund...

Up until the app updated Friday or Saturday it worked fine. I could talk to my family daily and be able to video as well. I wish there was a way to go back to the old version. I’ve google and searched and can’t find a way at all. Before, I could answer and have no problems with talking great signal and all. Now, the calls drop, it won’t let me answer, I keep having to log off and log back on in order to show availability. My family is saying they have to log off and log back on as well. It’s frustrating and even though society doesn’t care about an inmate their still human and if we in the free world are paying you to allow us to do this, when you’re taking the money and not providing the service it’s almost like you’re getting free money and we have to wait until Monday to report the issue. Not right and very disappointed. Please fix the bugs and issues going on with the app.

Why does it cost $4.50 for a 15 minute call that’s crazy and way to much fir 15 minutes. I would be okay if it was an hour. Think about lowering the cost or having longer video time. It takes up the money quick especially if you needed to obtain important information from your loved one. Other than that no issue. This look into adjusting these two for better.

Up until yesterday when my app updated I was super impressed with this app. It allowed my family and I to talk to my brother-in-law and we video called every day multiple times a day, but now that you guys have updated the app, it rings and it doesn’t allow me to answer him, I hit the answer button and it just continuously rings sometimes instead of answering at all. 20 minutes ago, I FINALLY, after countless missed calls and getting kicked out of the app multiple times got it to answer the video only for us to be kicked off our video for failed communication FOUR times so we just completely abandoned this app completely and I paid to have him call me instead of being able to video and actually see him like normal. Please fix the issues, I LOVED this app until these problems started occurring and it really is helpful for the inmates and their families to still be able to see each other face to face in the comfort of their own homes daily. I’ll give it three stars for now, before the issues occurred I would have given it five. I would love to keep using this daily if the issues get resolved so hopefully soon it will be back to running as good as it was before it updated!

If this were a competition I imagine the developers would strive to improved he app but you have no choice if you want to see them while you talk. Like most things these days the developers/ designers never use or try their creations. Most of the time the video freezes. Sometimes the call will drop. You need to log in continuously. What’s with the app not remembering my user name this is one of the most basic things a app should be able to handle. You can only use it in one orientation, if you flip your device over the app isn’t even aware, another basic function this app is unable to do. Money wise they must be sons of politicians or big businesses reaching into our pockets and grabbing as much $$$$$$ as possible. I would give it zero stars but it won’t let me do that.

After reading other reviews it’s oblivious the developers don’t give a #@$& about their work. I’m out.

This app has been such a true blessing and I have never had such incredible customer service by anyone as I have from HomeWAV. I have got to talk to some very incredible people who are always very kind and understanding and go way above and beyond to help me. They truly care about their customers. Thank you so much Denise for helping me today you are a true blessing to those people out there struggling with not being with their loved ones!!!!

I’ve used this app for 2 days to contact a loved one out of state. Each call my internet and WiFi have been excellent. For some reason we can only complete a portion of a call before it disconnects. Each time a 15 minute call disconnects you lose the remainder of the time and money. Today we reconnected 3 or 4 times but I went from 79 minutes to around 30 minutes remaining. Each call ranged 2 minutes-12 but we never completed a single call. Topics of conversation weren’t anything to question. Talk of basic needs, kids, family, and ways to contact with a more reliable platform.

I’d love to give this app zero stars but it did allow me to see my loved one even though it scammed me out of time and money.

I appreciate having the app to use to visit my son instead of going down to the local jail where visitation is only two days a week and you have to make an appointment and it takes 24 hours to get your appointment this way I can talk to him whenever I want yeah it freezes up sometimes yeah it does take my money but it doesn’t take me long to disconnect the call when it starts to freeze up then he can try to call me again and usually it will work just fine we can usually get a short video call in even with the freezing up but as long as I get to see my son‘s face and hear his voice even if it is freezing up I’m good with that for now yeah they have a few quirks to work out but I’m sure they will but I’m thankful for this app so I don’t have to deal with the stupid local jail

Tried to have an on-site visit with my loved one today. I was logged in on the monitor. He was logged in on the monitor but for some reason we were not connected. By the time I received a response from personnel our allotted time was up. Staff said I needed to come back on Monday between 8:00 and 5:00. Just so happens I work those hours which is why I was visiting on the weekend. The facility should have use both systems together for a month to get the bugs worked out. That way there would be an alternative if the homewav system is not working properly. These types of problems are what cause low detainee moral and behavioral issues.

The try to blame my internet connection on the video freezing but my WiFi connection is superb . Soon as I accept the call it freezes & take a dollar of my money . I’ve called & nothing was done besides blaming my connection . I’ve turned my WiFi system off and on , uninstalled and downloaded the app over just to ensure it wasn’t any issues on my side . Every other app I use works fine so I’m not sure why it’s constantly freezing, it must be a problem on their side . I’m disappointed in the robbery ! It has used all my money from just accepting the call & I have not even been able to speak to the inmate from it freezing up .
