Who is Make-A-Wish partnered with? ›

All wish expenses are fully covered, including all travel and spending money when appropriate. Make-A-Wish's objective is to create a memorable wish experience for both the child and family that is not clouded by financial concerns.

What are the most requested wishes? Typically, wishes fall into one of five general categories. Some Make-A-Wish kids want to travel to their favorite theme park, while others want to visit an exotic beach, go on a cruise, or attend a major sporting event or concert.

Make-A-Wish is an international organization that serves to fulfill the wishes of critically ill children. We operate in over 50 countries and have brought 550,000 wishes to life in 43 years. We celebrate the 29th of April every year as World Wish Day. This date commemorates the first wish ever granted by the movement.

Some examples of conditions that qualify include, but are not limited to, various forms of cancer, duch*enne's muscular dystrophy, transplants and intractable epilepsy. Generally, children with chronic conditions such as diabetes or developmental delays do not qualify.

Generally, the wish can include 2 adults and siblings that live in the wish child's home (under the age of 18) to be part of the wish experience. If the child requires nursing care, a nurse may be considered based on recommendation of the child's medical team.

The Make-a-Wish Foundation grants 15,400 wishes each year for children with life-threatening or limiting illnesses, according to NPR's "All Things Considered." On average, a wish costs $10,130, which includes all expenses related to the gift or experience.
