A handful of notable names will likely be absent from Round 3 of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Course on Saturday, including four-time winner of the event Tiger Woods.

The projected one-under-par cut line also left Phil Mickelson, a two-time winner of the PGA Championship, and Jon Rahm behind.

While Woods, Mickelson and Rahm likely didn't have enough to secure a trip to the third round, Xander Schauffele continued his outstanding start to the PGA Championship. After a historic opening round on Thursday, Schauffele carded a three-under-par to remain at the top of the leaderboards at 12-under-par.

Collin Morikawa is just behind him at 11-under-par with Sahith Theegala in third place at 10-under-par. Scottie Scheffler, who was arrested early Friday morning, carded a 66 on Friday, which was good enough to put him in fourth place heading into Round 3.

A handful of golfers will have to finish Round 2 on Saturday after play was suspended due to darkness, but here's a look at who is set to miss the projected one-under cut line.

Tiger Woods

It was a tournament to forget for Woods, who is coming off a Masters performance that saw him make the cut but struggle the rest of the weekend.

In Round 1 on Thursday, Woods managed to hit three birdies, but counteracted that progress with four bogies. Things got even worse for Woods in Round 2.

He began his day with a triple-bogey on the second hole followed by a bogey on the third hole. He hit another triple bogey on the fourth hole. He notched back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes, but two more bogies on the back nine meant he was far from reaching the cut line as he carded a 77.

Woods nearly picked up a hole-in-one on the eight hole which would have increased his chances of moving on, but likely still would have left him short.

Phil Mickelson

Mickelson reigned victorious at the PGA Championship just three years ago, but was far from winning this weekend.

He set the tone for his rough showing on the first two holes in Round 1, carding a bogey followed by a double bogey. He picked up four birdies to help improve his score, but crushed his progress with two bogies and a double bogey on the back nine.

He showed improvement in Round 2, carding a one-over-par, but with Thursday's disastrous performance, he was far from the cut line.

Jon Rahm

Unlike Woods and Mickelson, Rahm is just out of reach of the projected cut line. Rahm finished Round 2 even at par, just one stroke away from advancing to Round 3.

Despite collecting five bogies in Round 1, Rahm managed to get to one-under-par due to six birdies. On Friday, he had a bogey and a birdie in the front nine and had two more birdies and a bogey on the back nine. He would have had enough to advance had it not been for a double bogey on the 17th hole.
