Thirty-Eight U.S. Athletes Awarded Grand Prix Selections | U.S. Figure Skating (2024)

The International Skating Union announced today athlete assignments for the 2024 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series with 38 skaters set to represent Team USA at six international stops.

The 2024 Grand Prix Series kicks off Oct. 18-20 at Skate America in Allen, Texas. Leading the Team USA lineup will be four reigning State America and World medalists: Madison Chock and Evan Bates, Ilia Malinin, and Isabeau Levito.

Chock and Bates went undefeated in the 2023-24 season, winning their fourth Skate America crown before clinching their second straight World title. Another gold would tie them with Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto for the most Skate America golds in ice dance.

Malinin, who became the youngest men’s Skate America champion in history in 2022, defended his title in 2023 and went on to win his first World championship. Levito, who secured silver at the World Championships, has taken silver two straight years at Skate America.

The Grand Prix Series incorporates six international figure skating competitions as a unified point-scoring series that awards prize money to eligible skaters. Athletes can compete at a maximum of two Grand Prix events and at the conclusion of the series, athletes' points are totaled, and the top six women, men, pairs and ice dance teams will be eligible to compete at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2024, set for Dec. 5-8, in Grenoble, France.

In 2023, the United States secured 11 medals during the six Grand Prix events, including a medal in each discipline at Skate America.
