Here’s how to use the tip calculator. You’ll first need to decide how much as a percentage you want to tip based on your experience and other factors. Then:
- Add the total cost of your bill to the “Your bill” field.
- Tell us the tip percentage you want to use.
- Choose “Include Tip” to see the amount to be paid in total.

How to calculate a tip without a calculator?
Figuring out the tip
If your total bill is $200 and you want to tip 15%, work out the tip by multiplying the total bill by 0.15. You can then add this amount to your bill when it comes to pay. Simple.
Or alternatively, you can multiply the bill excluding service by 1.15 (assuming you want to leave that same 15% tip). That gives you the final sum to pay.
Removing gratuity from the bill
Sometimes you’ll find a gratuity is automatically added to your bill. Let’s say a 15% service charge has been added to your bill, and you want to figure out how much you’d have to pay without it - simply divide the total amount by 1.15.

In most countries, average tips range from 10% - 20% of the total bill. However, tipping is usually discretionary, and can be guided by local cultural norms and the type of place you’re visiting. Doing what the locals do - no matter which country you’re visiting - is the best bet. Your tip is your chance to thank your server. Consider leaving a higher percentage when:
