Includes information on the family of Daniel Boone and continues the theory of german influence on some English family names on the American frontier.

Some people have thought that perhaps Abraham Lincoln was of German descent because his grandfather wrote his name as Abraham Linkhorn. It appears that while the family was of English heritage, they were influenced by the strong German presence in Rockingham County, Virginia. The family moved to Kentucky and used the name Linkhorn for a short time. By the birth of future president Abraham Lincoln, the family had once again resorted to using the English version of the name.
