It has been an exciting week at Construction Kaiser Limited. Celebrating Health and Safety Week has presented excellent opportunities to strengthen our commitment to occupational safety through increased awareness, information sharing, and fun.In my early days as a young engineer, I always found it very difficult to adhere to simple safety rules, like wearing my hard hat, safety shoes, eye googles, and reflective jacket but the narrative changed the very day a hammer fell from a carpenter working at a distance of 6 meters height. It landed on the hard hat I was wearing. Fortunately, it had no major impact on my head but my hard hat broke into two. This incident taught me a big lesson that made me take safety seriously. I have become an ambassador for safety since then, and I have also attended several safety trainings.The construction industry is inherently risky due to the nature of the work executed. It is critical for construction companies to strengthen their commitment to safety and to celebrate the incredible diligence of everyone in our industry who makes safety an integral part of their operations.A safe and healthy workplace should be considered a fundamental human right because it also encourages positive mental health. #constructionindustry #safetyfirst #safetyweek2023 #healthandsafety #mentalhealth
